VHS/DVD Combo machines allow you to insert your old VHS tape
in one side, insert a blank DVD disk in the other side, press a button
and the VHS tape, 'dubs' (i.e. copied) to the DVD and a copy is made.
At the end of the process the DVD is 'finalized' so that it will play
on most standard DVD players.

Many different VHS/DVD Combo recorders are available, but it is worth
paying the extra money and getting a good brand such as Panasonic.
You do not want your tapes to get eaten by a poor quality VCR machine!
